    Category Financials

    thePearl Magazine

He’s no Bill Gates (#1 on Forbes 400 -net worth $57 billion) or even a Mark Zuckerberg (#321 on Forbes 400 - net worth $1.5 billion), but according to Forbes.com Curtis “50 cent” Jackson is the top earning hip-hop cash king this year - earning $150 million. That’s nearly twice Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s 2008 earnings and at least four times Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kanye West and Timbaland.

Even without producing a hit in years,  Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, banked $15 million from decades of royalties. Tupac Shakur has been dead for over 10 years, but according to Forbes.com, also banked a cool $15 million this year.
